Emmett Lacy Wilburn, 80, of Roanoke County died March 13, 2010. He was retired from Roanoke County Schools. His surviving family includes his wife Evelyn Hypes Wilburn; sons Emmett Lacy Wilburn Jr. and wife Maria of Clayton, N.C.; Donald Creed Wilburn of Boydton, Va., and Guy Lewis Wilburn of Roanoke; grandsons Kevin Wilburn of Berlin, Germany, and Morgan Wilburn of Salem; granddaughters Sandra Wilburn of Hamburg, Germany, and Baily Wilburn of Salem; great-grandchildren Damon and Darlene Wilburn of Berlin, Germany; brother James Wilburn of Crewe; half-brothers Dan Saunders and Ernest Saunders of Danville and Ivor Saunders of Atlanta, Ga. A graveside service was held on March 16 at the Grubb Family Cemetery in Salem with the Rev. Dr. Carl Basham officiating. Memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity.
