VA greenhouse is not moving
SALEM – Contrary to what some people believe, the Salem VA Greenhouse is not closing nor moving, but is changing the lot where perennials and annuals are for sale during the spring and summer.
A half-price sale is going on this week at the greenhouse run as CWT – Compensated Work Therapy – at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. According to the manager, the greenhouse operation itself will stay put but the gravel lot will be given up and the project will gain the side yard adjacent to buildings.
CWT staff said they had answered the question all day on June 20 about rumors of moving the greenhouse, and wants to get the word out. The greenhouse is open year round, Monday through Friday.
