Two women arrested in ‘largest meth lab’ bust
CRAIG COUNTY – Two women were arrested when Craig County deputies and other officers busted what Sheriff Clifford Davidson and Virginia State Police Special Agent Mike Bowman are calling “the largest active meth lab ever discovered in Craig County.”
The task force executed a search warrant on Tuesday, April 26, at 26616 Craig Creek Rd. near New Castle, the sheriff said.
He listed the two arrested at the scene as Sara D. Oliver, 29, of Salem and Gale Jones, 42, of New Castle.

Oliver was charged with manufacture of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and is being held at the Botetourt-Craig Regional Jail, the sheriff said. Jones was charged with possession of a controlled substance was released on a $2,500 bond.
It was Jones’ second arrest on a meth charge. She was one of 32 Craig County people arrested in November 2010 in a massive drug bust when various substances, including heroin, were involved. She is scheduled to be in Craig County Circuit Court on May 9.
Davidson released information and photographs of the meth lab today, April 28.
The investigation is continuing, Davidson said, and additional charges are expected against Oliver and Jones as well as “three or four additional people.” He said those charges would probably be taken straight to the next Grand Jury, which will also meet May 9.
The agencies involved in executing the search warrant were the Craig County Sheriffs Office, New River Regional Drug Task Force and Virginia State Police.

Yeah, last week two meth makers got sentenced to 5 years and they had their 4 and 5 years old with who had meth in their systems. You get more time for mistreating animals (not that you shouldn’t) than kids or for maufacturing one of the most addictive and dangerous drugs out there.
im her daughter and am not defending her at all but SHE HAS NOT YET BEEN CHARGED WITH MANUFACTURING look it up in public records if you dont want to take my word! granted she probably will be but hasnt yet, just another posession charge as of now!! GET YOUR STORY STRAIGHT BEFORE ITS PRINTED!!
I agree with Courtney, even if she is charged, she has not been so yet, so the press needs to get their story straight and actually report correct, factual information. Has Gale Jones been interviewed BY THE PRESS? Didn’t think so. Last I checked this is America. If people want to buy the stuff let them. They’re adults, it’s their money, leave them alone. And her family as well.
I am glad you aren’t defending her. I will not judge her either at this time (not my job) but still, whoever was making the meth was putting themselves and everyone in their household in grave danger. Is your life really worth a buzz that won’t do anything but make you want more, until you’re so hooked you’d sell your butt for another taste? There’s way, way much more to life than drugs, believe me. If you love your Mom, help her get straight!

Well I agree with Jim. Just b/c we live in a “free” country doesn’t mean we should leave these people “alone”. This stuff kills people and destroys families.
well, i for one dont think its right that some people are in jail with no bond. When you violate one bond, they dont just give you another one to be nice. Someone sang lie a canary!!
Yeah no kidding, and so does drinking alcohol, and smoking, and eating foods with too much trans fat for that matter. They’re adults making their own choices, so if any one is “killed” I guess that’s their own decision if they don’t value their lives. And by “leave them alone” I am stating that talking badly about anyone doesn’t get anyone anywhere or help those that are in the situation they’re in. Yes, they need help and love, not hate and gossip. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
well FYI no she hasnt “sang” about anyone ms.oliver had charges in other jursidictions they knew she was the main culprit my mother made bad choices and then chose to associate herself with TRASH and shes in jail now doing what she has to do and is going to get her life back together! And why do you care if she told on anyone?? If your not doing anything wrong then you aint got nothing to worry about =)
I am the first to “judge” my mother and know exactly what she did! have you ever been a meth/heroin addict?? if not then who are you to judge when youve never had that problem…do you know what its like to be sick or embarrased, desperate for something you know is wrong but you cant help yourself?? im sure you do everyone is addicted to something, people just handle their addictions differently no matter what they are EVERYONE has one somewhere along the line!
Well, anyone with common sense knows that if you violate your bond with the same “substance” as you just got endighted on only a few months earlier and you get another bond, you are helping someone out. Its wrong that people that take the cowards way out get to walk around. Its bull, and im not saying that mrs. oliver wasnt the main one but she is a grown woman, and it was in her house. Im sure no one twisted her arm in the matter, thats for sure and it helps alot when a special agent talks to the magistrate for you!!!!!
