Jackie Reynolds Scruggs and Glenn William Taylor were married on May 23 at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church in Roanoke. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Michael Ennis of Roanoke, assisted by the Rev. Stephen Scruggs of Winston-Salem, N.C.
Escorted by her son, James D. Scruggs, the bride was given in marriage by her family.
Bonnie Renick, a close friend of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Dreama Kirby, daughter of the groom, and Lori Taylor, daughter-in-law of the groom. The flower girl was Randalyn Taylor, granddaughter of the groom..
Randall Taylor, son of the groom, was his best man. Groomsmen were Gerald M. Reynolds, and David A. Reynolds Sr., brothers of the bride. Ushers were Dennis Kirby, son-in-law of the groom; and Allen and Joshua Reynolds, nephews of the bride. Ring bearers were Jacob T. Scruggs, grandson of the bride, and Jacob Kirby, grandson of the groom. Candle lighters were Michael and Conner Pruett, grandsons of the bride. Favor attendants were Isaiah Taylor, and Garrett Kirby, grandsons of the groom.
Deborah J. Braisted presented a program of wedding music.
Soloists were Donna B. Scruggs, daughter-in-law of the bride, and Tim Huffman, friend of the groom. Connie Highberger, close friend of the bride, was the wedding director for the couple
The Rev. Penny Wilson of New Castle gave the invocation at the reception, which was held immediately following the ceremony in the church social hall. The Rev. and Mrs. Joe Braisted prepared a sumptuous wedding buffet for the reception.
After a trip to the Caribbean on The Granduer of The Seas, the couple reside in Roanoke and New Castle.
