Schools closing early due to freezing rain
Schools in the Roanoke Valley and New River Valley are closing early today, Jan. 21, due to anticipated freezing rain starting earlier than expected.
Craig County Schools are closing at 12:30 p.m.; Botetourt, Salem and Roanoke County Schools are closing 1 hour early; Radford City 2 hours early, and Montgomery County, 3 hours early.
Forecasters say low temperatures hovering around freezing could make driving conditions hazardous later this evening, and urge motorists to use caution.
