The HoD's proposed budget cuts $500K more from Salem schools than the Senate's proposed budget, per press release from Salem Superintendent. The headline of a letter Griffith wrote to his constituents, and published in ST, insinuates that the HoD budget provides $700K more funding to Salem schools. The "more" he's referring to is the original HoD budget. Through a shell game with VRS, the latest HoD budget provides an additional $700K to the original. However, it is still less than the Senate's bill and Gov's proposal. We can debate whether each chamber's bill is better or worse, but to mislead people like this is irresponsible.
