Perry, Gertrude Ailene Donald
Gertrude Ailene Donald Perry, 93, of Salem died March 2, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Emery Clair Perry. Gertrude enjoyed her stenographer’s position with the State of Ohio as well as her roles as homemaker and devoted mother. College Lutheran Church in Salem, Virginia was considered her church home and family. She was active in the quilter’s ministry team and known for her homemade cookies. Survivors include her son, Gerald Perry, and wife, Mary Catherine; grandsons Jeffrey, David, and James Perry; and great-grandchildren Alex, Caroline, Will, Emery, Connor, and Dillon. Arrangements were conducted by John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem.
