New Castle man charged with child pornography
NEW CASTLE – A 53-year-old New Castle man is in jail, charged with 21 counts related to child pornography and drugs.
William Britt “Skippy” Bailey of 219 Main Street, Apt B, was arrested on 21 grand jury indictments. His arrest this week came after a year-long investigation by the Craig County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia State Police and the New River Regional Drug Task Force.
The Craig County Grand Jury handed down the indictments Feb. 22. Bailey was arrested the following day.
He is charged with five counts of possession of child pornography, 10 of distributing child pornography, one of soliciting a child under the age of 18, and five counts of possession and distribution of drugs.
Bailey is being held without bond in the Botetourt-Craig Regional Jail. His preliminary hearing is set for March 8 in Craig County Circuit Court.
