Hazel Moses Mynes, 98, of Salisbury, Md., passed away on April 5, 2010. Born in Montgomery County on Sept. 28, 1911, she was raised in the Catawba and Salem areas. Preceding her in death were her husband, Albert D. Mynes, and daughter, Brenda Mae Mynes; parents John Harrison Sr. and Tybitha Wright Moses; brothers Wesley Moses, Cecil Moses and John H. Moses Jr.; sisters Glenna Brown, Thelma Foster, Ruby Lemon, Truby Moore and Willie Carter. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Wayne and Lavern Mynes of Hebron, Md.; Bill and Trudy Mynes of Brea, Calif.; sister Etta Flinchum of Salem; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services were conducted on April 10 at Sherwood Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were handled by Lotz Funeral Home, Salem.
