Michael Sandridge fought valiantly, but lost cancer battle

By Meg Hibbert

GLENVAR – In the midst of a massive show of support by friends urging Glenvar High School sophomore Michael Sandridge to ‘Fight Michael Fight,’ the 16-year-old passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 27, with his family surrounding him.

He fought valiantly against testicular cancer since it was discovered on June 12. Members of the Glenvar Football Team and other friends say they plan to continue with plans this week to sell purple Fight Michael Fight T-shirts to raise money to fight cancer.

Services for Sandridge will be announced later.
