Jim Martin, 78, of Salem died March 10, 2010. He served his country in the U.S. Army for two years and the Army Reserve for 10 years. He was a truck driver and fleet manager for Sav-A-Stop for 23 years. Preceding him death were his parents, Graden and Zettie Martin, and brothers, Bob, Eddie and Roy Martin. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Shirley Martin; sons Ronnie, Jeff and Darryl Martin; daughter Melissa Grant and husband Granville; grandchildren Adam and Lauren Martin and Zeb Grant; sisters Kathleen Alls and husband Buddy, Virginia Wells, Evelyn Yates and husband Gene, Dorothy Boothe and husband Jack and Nancy Whitmer and husband Bobby. A funeral service was held March 13 at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem with Pastor Elwood Carwille officiating. Interment followed in Butt’s Cemetery.
