Kitts named principal at Blacksburg High School

Brian Kitts was named principal at Blacksburg High School today. Kitts most recently served as assistant principal at Eastern Montgomery High School and principal at Kipps Elementary School.

“I hope to work with the students and staff members at Blacksburg to help each student be successful individually,” said Kitts. “The high school environment is where students create the building blocks for their future successes and I am excited to be a part of that process at BHS.”

“Mr. Kitts possesses a strong background in curriculum and exemplary communication skills that make him the ideal candidate for Blacksburg High School principal,” said Brenda Blackburn, division superintendent.

Kitts received his master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in educational leadership from Radford University and a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech in family and child development.
