Juveniles charged in vandalism to Christiansburg athletic fields

Christiansburg Police say two juveniles have been charged for allegedly vandalizing several athletic fields in Christiansburg.

According to CHS Capt. Dalton Reid, the following fields were damaged: Christiansburg High School football field, the Christiansburg Middle School soccer field and court yard, the Christiansburg Elementary School playground field and the Montgomery Central (old middle school) soccer field.  The date reported was 2-10-16  The estimated cost is approximately $10,000.00 total

Reid said both have been charged with felony destruction of property. The incidents occured Feb. 10, and the damage is estimated at $10,000.

According to police, the two were in a vehicle that drove onto the fields and spun in circles (making “donuts”), causing extensive damage to the fields.

CHS Athletic Director Shane Guynn said the damage should be fixed by the end of March.
