Gunshots reported on VT campus
MONTGOMERY COUNTY— Gunshots have been reported on the campus of Virginia Tech about 12:30 this afternoon, and there is an unconfirmed report an officer has been shot.
Law enforcement in the VT and on campus are looking out for a suspect described as a white male wearing gray sweat pants, gray hat with neon green brim, a maroon hoodie and backpack. Police say the suspect may have a long gun – such as a rifle or shotgun.
The shots were reported in the Coliseum parking lot. Students and staff were advised to stay inside, lock doors and call 911 for help, according to the VT Twitter feed.
