Grubb, French Sudduth Jr.
French Sudduth Grubb Jr. of Salem died February 25, 2010. He was a veteran of World War II, and for many years a proud employee of Lotz Funeral Home. He was a member of West End United Methodist Church of Roanoke. Preceding him in death were his wife, Ruth Midkiff Grubb; son Michael Sudduth Grubb; grandson Julian Drew Pitts; and brother William Randolph Grubb. Survivors include daughter Judith Grubb Pitts and her husband Richard; granddaughter Amy Pitts Blair and her husband Ray; great-grandchildren Anna Caroline Pitts, Abby Elizabeth Pitts and Aaron Douglas Blair; sisters Shirley Grubb Sutherland and Anne Grubb Johnstone and her husband George. A memorial service was conducted by Charles Briscoe on Feb. 28 at Lotz Salem Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service on Sunday.
