The All-Three Rivers District football team was announced after all district teams were eliminated from the playoffs, and this year that didn’t happen until December. Radford made it to the state championship game before falling to Essex in the Division 2 final at Salem Stadium.
Glenvar was well-represented on the All-Three Rivers team, including four first team selections. Senior Zach Hill was named first team at running back and senior Alex Asimakopoulos was a first team guard selection. On defense junior Phillip Tarpley was named first team at linebacker despite missing most of the non-district games with a bad back, and senior Garrett Clay was named first team at defensive back.
Tarpley was also named second team offense at running back, along with Richard Gleason at receiver, Jacob Salmon at tackle and Tim Woods as a utlity player. The second team defense had Jacob Noble at end, Justin Farmer on the line, Woods and Hill and linebacker, Gleason at defensive back, and Corey Bolden at punter.
Shawn Christian of Eastern Montgomery was named Offensive Player of the Year while Josh Oliver was Defensive Player of the Year and Greg Ray of Giles was named the top lineman. Radford’s Matthew Saunders was named Three Rivers District Coach of the Year.
