Danielle McPeak pleads no contest in husband’s murder
Danielle Vinese McPeak has pled no contest to the charge of first degree murder of her estranged husband, James Matthew McPeak. The trial was held in Montgomery County Circuit Court Monday afternoon.
James Matthew McPeak, 25, was found dead in his 305 Miller Street, Christiansburg, home on December 21, 2010. Don Nathan Walker II, a marine stationed in North Carolina at the time of James McPeak’s death, has also been charged with first degree murder in the case. Walker has testified that he stabbed McPeak to death and that Danielle McPeak planned the murder. Walker’s trial has not been scheduled.
Brad Finch, Montgomery County Commonwealth’s Attorney represented the state in the Danielle McPeak trial. McPeak was convicted as charged of first degree murder by Judge Robert M.D. Turk. She will be sentenced by the court at a sentencing hearing scheduled for March 12, 2012, at 1:00, in the Montgomery County Circuit Court.
The McPeaks had two young children.
