Craig’s Trippeer lead in Longwood production
LONGWOOD – Craig County’s Stephanie Trippeer is the leading lady in Longwood University Theatre’s production of “The Underpants,” an adaptation by Steve Martin of a German comedy.
The Craig County High School 2007 graduate plays Louise whose underpants fall to her ankles as she stretches on her tip toes to see the king passing by in a parade. And so the fun begins.

The aftermath is a mixture of her husband Theo’s whining over how the embarrassing situation will affect his standing in the community and other men’s interest in Louise as they vie for a place in her room for rent.
Add an eavesdropping neighbor who offers spicy advice and Steve Martin’s zany sense of humor bursts forth in daffy lines and twisted puns.
The play runs April 7-10 and 14-17, with performances at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sundays in Longwood’s Center for Communication Studies and Theatre’s Mainstage Theatre.
Trippeer is a senior theater major at Longwood and the daughter of Trena Boudreaux of New Castle and Eddie Trippeer of Roanoke.
She previously appeared on stage at Longwood in “Venus and Adonis,” “Crimes of the Heart,” “Peer Gynt” and “She Stoops to Conquer.”
