Rings with a large stone, or a heavy top tend to “spin” the most. Your jeweler can add two “cleats” or “beads” to the inside of the shank (band) to help stabilize the ring on your finger. These do not damage the ring and make the ring feel like it’s about ¼ to ½ size smaller, depending on how large the beads are.

Ring guards can work, too, but are a bit unsightly and need readjusting from time to time. Another option when purchasing a ring is to look for one with what’s called a “Euro shank”, one that’s a bit squared off at the base of the shank.

The look is modern and I find them to be very comfortable to wear.
