Boucher: federal money coming for Paint Bank high-speed Internet

By Meg Hibbert

PAINT BANK – Ninth District Congressman Rick Boucher will hold a press conference tomorrow, Aug. 4, in Paint Bank to announce federal funds that will bring new high-speed Internet services to Craig County residents.

Boucher’s office said he would make Wednesday’s announcement at the Paint Bank Volunteer Fire Department at 10 a.m.

Right now, only pockets of Craig County have high-speed Internet service available. In July, the county’s telephone provider, TDS, ran a line and made service available along Rt. 621, Upper Craigs Creek Road.

High speed is also available in the Town of New Castle in the county seat.
