Botetourt bans all open air burning

Botetourt County officials have expanded a ban on open air burning, effective immediately. Extremely dry conditions persist and pose an increased danger of wildfires. This risk is compounded by seasonably windy conditions which can quickly accelerate the spread of grass and brush fires.
